LIS SAM biography
Born in 1989, creative from childhood, it is through Street Art painting and its different techniques (tag, stencil, collage, sticker ...) that Lis Sam began to tear up her chrysalis to become a painter and Self-taught international plastic artist, flitting freely from sculptures under bells to graphic paintings and gradually making a place for himself in the collections.
Quite quickly in his works, 3D became predominant and flowers appeared, especially roses, crowning the customization of spray cans, paint cans and brushes or bringing unexpected relief to his paintings; a little later, the butterflies will take flight. Alternately joyful, moving, questioning,
Lis Sam has his place with any collector, any collector, for whom emotion is important.
LIS SAM AT THE CROSSROADS OF ARTISTIC MOVEMENTS, REPRESENTED AT THE GALERIE LE CUBE VERNET
A work by Lis Sam cannot be reduced to a color-relief pairing, so many are its influences and each of his paintings, each of his sculptures is unique.
Op Art, or Optical Art, blends through the use of successive technical layers with Kinetic Art, but with a new softness. Art lovers, moving around the large museum-glass portrait of The Girl Without a Name, will see her present herself at every step in a different light, always moving, never aggressive. And, just like in Pixel Art, every butterfly counts, as its placement can change your perception of the whole.
PLASTIC ART AND CARE, TO DISCOVER IN AVIGNON
In Lis Sam's works, the taste for perfection and the glamor that characterizes his production are rarely dissociated, most often combined in 3D. In the same way that the criticism of the feminine condition appears subtly in The Girl Without a Name, of which he tells us that she renounced everything that made her individuality for the love of a man who testified well to her. little gratitude, he does not hesitate to call for solidarity when a cause moves him, solidarity which is expressed in different forms (such as the auction of a painting of his son) but always with elegance and benevolence .
A RESOLUTELY CONTEMPORARY POP ART, IN THE ARTISTIC LINE OF CUBE VERNET
Lis Sam is therefore undoubtedly an artist of his time and of the complexity of our society. Exploiting the themes of comics and luxury in a “so” 21st century Pop Art, he does not disdain on occasion to deviate from the elegance that seems so natural to him to address a more direct criticism in the form of banknotes. 'a dollar. For the execution of the "Need Money for Art" NFT for example, a work made up of 100 unique frames, the banknotes are cut out, some pieces taking the form of butterflies, others indefinite and prosaic shapes, then reconstituted on several planes around their "Tears".
Lis Sam is now present in many national and international galleries, as well as regularly represented in Monaco, at events such as the Bal des Princes et Princesses or the Principality's Book Fair.
