ITINERARY OF A PLASTIC ARTIST, FROM URBAN ARCHITECTURE TO THE ART GALLERY Cube Vernet in Avignon
Marie-Ange Daudé was born in 1964 in Limoges. It is to "beautify the world" that she chooses planning and urban planning studies. Working in the real estate development sector, she frequented many architect-artists and, in contact with them, embarked on the creative process. There is still very little talk of recycling waste when the visual artist seizes it to create her first works: glass, cans, various boxes, ashes, concrete, tulle, polyester, charcoal, shells, plastics... and then, feathers . As a lover of love, a gift she says she wishes for her birthday, Daudé then produced a series of 69 hearts, each designed using a different technique. This is followed by a work on old photographs, in which the artist awakens the characters by applying contemporary techniques and materials or unexpected elements: staples, pins, threads, petals... and also, feathers.

More recently, MAD resolutely made feathers its material of choice by using it in the creation of portraits. And since the artist defends freedom, it is freely that she invents her artistic technique: feathers in suspension. She also likes to be precise, so it is with precision that the visual artist, in a frame-formwork, stretches barely visible nylon threads away from the bottom then fixes her white, gray and black feathers there, thus composing an astonishing face. of expressiveness. She then closes her painting with matt Plexiglas which, better than transparent glass, accentuates the impression of evanescence, the padded atmosphere, the feminine softness and fragility transmitted by the material and the relief of the down. But where do her feathers come from? “These are angel feathers…”, replies the ex-triathlete with the huge smile that she never seems to let go.
MARIE-ANGE DAUDÉ STRONGLY SPREADS THE SOFTNESS OF HER TIMELESS WORKS at the Galerie le Cube Vernet in Avignon
“I would like us to go beyond the technique, to make the visitor feel something. My work is about erasing, artistic blurring. » These few words from the visual artist are not in vain, so many collectors will fall under the spell of these yet strong faces floating in their frame, which will inspire them with mixed emotions, as soft and fuzzy as the painting The Square and the hair dandy. If the light playing with the relief of the material gives depth to MAD's portraits, the grayscale composition accentuates their nostalgic expression, their desire for other times in which she herself likes to slip.
Marie-Ange Daudé is present in galleries, exhibitions and fairs in Europe and North America. At the SIAC in Marseille, in 2016 she won the public prize in the “mural creations” category.
