Born in Barcelona in 1973, Monica Castanys captures suspended moments of urban life through figurative painting bathed in light. Her scenes — sunlit terraces, lively streets, quiet interiors, portray feminine everyday life with sensitivity and elegance. A graduate of the Llotja School and trained in Florence, she works in oil on wood, using a luminous palette inspired by Impressionism.

For more than twenty years, Monica Castanys has exhibited in galleries across Europe and participated in numerous international art fairs. Her work, both intimate and universal, blends expression and poetry, inviting viewers into moments of silence, transition, and contemplation.
