« With my glass painting I fill transparent, geometric spaces whose visual explorations produce surprising variations in forms. »Wilfried Grootens is a German glass artist born in 1954 in Uedem, specializing in laminated glass sculptures that create optical illusions and floating forms. From his apprenticeship as a glass and porcelain painter, followed by cultural travels around the world, he developed a unique technique consisting of painting on layers of glass that he assembles and polishes to obtain almost magical geometric volumes. His work explores light, depth, and multiple perspectives, making each piece a unique visual experience.
