About the artwork:
Unique porcelain sculptures by the artist XUE, carefully shaped and hand-painted in blue, imitating crushed metal cans while evoking the delicacy of Ming dynasty vases.
These sculptures create a tension between tradition and contemporary consumer society, confronting ancestral craftsmanship with modern disposability.

About the artist:
Lei Xue invites us to reflect on identity, innovation, and the dialogue between East and West.
Lei Xue is a multidisciplinary Chinese artist — sculptor, painter, photographer and video artist — whose series Drinking Tea, launched in the early 2000s, reinterprets crushed cans in porcelain inspired by Ming aesthetics.
He creates a strong contrast between the millennia-old tradition of ceramic craftsmanship and contemporary fast-consumption culture, inviting reflection on the evolution of everyday gestures and meaningful objects.
