Amy by Carme Magem is an original artwork by the artist, made in mixed media and collage on canvas, in a 100 x 80 cm format. A woman's face, seen in three-quarter view, is composed of newspaper clippings, printed pages and papers with blue floral patterns. Her gaze is highlighted in blue and her lips are red. Her hair spreads out in fragments of cobalt blue, indigo, ochre and yellow paper, and drips of blue paint run down towards the bottom of the canvas, on a background in cream and beige tones. About the artist:

“For me, a whole universe hides within a glance, a gesture or an expression.”

Carme Magem is a Catalan artist born in 1959, specializing in painting and collage. Her work focuses on expressive portraits, often of women, inspired by iconic figures such as Frida Kahlo or Marilyn Monroe. Alongside her artistic career, she has also worked as a midwife since 1981.

Carme Magem has exhibited her works in numerous galleries, both in Spain and internationally, including in Oman, the United Arab Emirates, New York and Singapore.

Her artistic approach aims to capture the depth of human emotions, exploring the hidden universes behind every glance and expression.
