Biographie

Elia Pagliarino: A Committed Visual Artist Exhibiting in France and Internationally

Elia Pagliarino, a French visual artist born in 1967, lives and works in the Aude region in southern France. Trained in visual and applied arts in Toulouse, she began her career as a graphic designer and scenographer before fully dedicating herself to her artistic practice in 2014. Her work sensitively explores themes of identity, memory, and human evolution in a post-natural world.

A Contemporary Artist at the Crossroads of Human, Animal, and Plant Life

Elia Pagliarino's work delves into the relationships between humans and their environment, drawing from ethnographic, naturalist, and mythological inspirations. She creates hybrid forms, often anthropomorphic, where the human body merges with organic or technological elements. Her artworks raise questions about the transformation of living beings in a constantly shifting world.

An Artistic Universe of Sculpture, Drawing, and Ceramics

Through a multidisciplinary approach, Elia Pagliarino employs painting, drawing, sculpture, and ceramics to give form to her reflections. Her project "Emerging Species" is emblematic of her vision: a series of chimeric figures—part human, part machine—designed to survive in a world facing ecological and social upheaval. Each creation tells a visual story, acting as a poetic and political manifesto.

A Participatory and Memory-Based Artistic Approach

Among her standout works is the "Beacons" series: clay belly-shaped sculptures containing scrolls of paper inscribed with life stories collected from around the world. These pieces, both intimate and universal, embody the transmission of collective memory and the power of shared human experience. The artist creates objects that serve as witnesses and vessels of meaning and connection.

Elia Pagliarino, an Artist Recognized by Galleries and International Awards

Elia Pagliarino's work is regularly exhibited in well-known contemporary galleries such as Galerie Sophie Le Méé (Île de Ré), Galerie Arnaud Bard (Honfleur), and Triptyque Galerie (Les Sables d’Olonne). She has received international recognition, including the Pure Art Prize in ceramics (UK) and the Peugeot Foundation Drawing Prize (France). Her work appeals to collectors and institutions drawn to an ethical and thought-provoking artistic approach.
