Born in Barcelona in 1973, Monica Castanys captures suspended moments of urban life through figurative painting bathed in light. Her scenes—sunlit terraces, lively streets, quiet interiors—portray everyday feminine life with sensitivity and elegance. A graduate of the Llotja School and trained in Florence, she works with oil on wood, using a luminous palette inspired by Impressionism.
For more than twenty years, Monica Castanys has exhibited in galleries throughout Europe and taken part in numerous international art fairs. Her work, both intimate and universal, blends expression and poetry, inviting the viewer into moments of silence, transition, or contemplation.
