About the Artist:

"I paint what I see, but above all what I feel in the moment."

Born in Barcelona in 1973, Monica Castanys captures suspended moments of urban life through figurative painting bathed in light. Her scenes—sunlit terraces, bustling streets, peaceful interiors—offer a sensitive and elegant vision of everyday feminine life. A graduate of the Llotja School and trained in Florence, she works in oil on wood, using a luminous palette inspired by Impressionism.

For more than twenty years, Monica Castanys has exhibited in galleries across Europe and participated in numerous international art fairs. Her work, both intimate and universal, combines expression and poetry, inviting the viewer into moments of silence, transition, or contemplation.
