About the artwork:
Original artwork by the artist Elia Pagliarino, created with double firing, inspired by a village suspended on a cliffside in Saudi Arabia, once accessible only by ropes. The artwork evokes this unique heritage through intertwined floral motifs and stylized architectural elements, reflecting the harmony between humans and their environment. The touches of color at the base of the piece and the delicate ceramic ornaments highlight the cultural and natural richness of this timeless place.

“We should not fear ambiguity — we must embrace differences.”
Elia Pagliarino is a French visual artist born in 1967, whose work explores notions of identity, appearance, and collective memory. Coming from a background marked by diversity and disability, she draws inspiration from ethnology, biology, and popular culture to create works combining drawing, sculpture, and ceramics. After a career in graphic design and scenography, she has devoted herself entirely to art since 2014.
Her work stands out through collections such as Balises©, ceramics preserving life stories, and Contes Sauvages, large drawings representing an exuberant human bestiary. Winner of the Pure Art Prize in 2017, she continues to explore new artistic forms from her studio in the Aude region.
