Born in France in 1957, Olivier Duhamel is a French figurative sculptor who settled in New Zealand in 1987. After many travels across Europe, Central Africa, and the South Pacific, he established himself on Waiheke Island, near Auckland, where he has lived and worked ever since.

Passionate about human morphology, Duhamel perfectly masters the representation of the body, which he explores through bronze, wood, and acrylic sculptures. He is particularly recognized for his innovative laminated sculpture technique, where laser-cut wood or resin sheets are manually assembled to create detailed and expressive three-dimensional forms.
