Born in France in 1957, Olivier Duhamel is a French figurative sculptor who settled in New Zealand in 1987. After many travels in Europe, Central Africa, and the South Pacific, he established himself on Waiheke Island, near Auckland, where he has lived and worked ever since.

Passionate about human morphology, Duhamel has mastered the representation of the body, expressed through sculptures in bronze, wood, and acrylic. He is particularly recognized for his innovative laminated sculpture technique, in which laser-cut wood or resin panels are manually assembled to create detailed and expressive three-dimensional forms.
