About the artist:

"I use light to create emotion."

Born in Rouen in 1982, Olivier Desvaux graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. A plein-air painter, he works in oil with his easel set up in front of the subject, in search of the light that gives rise to emotion: the banks of the Seine, harbours, cities and distant horizons brought back from his many travels.

Appointed Official Painter of the French Navy in 2018 and winner of the Prix Albert Maignan from the Fondation Taylor in 2017, he exhibits in France and abroad, notably in Paris, Rouen, Le Havre and Japan. He lives and works on a bend of the Seine, in Normandy.
