About the artist:

"I paint what I see, but above all what I feel in the moment."

Born in Barcelona in 1973, Monica Castanys captures suspended moments of urban life through figurative painting bathed in light. Her scenes—sunlit terraces, lively streets, quiet interiors—depict everyday feminine life with sensitivity and elegance. A graduate of the Llotja School and trained in Florence, she works in oil on wood, using a luminous palette inspired by Impressionism.

For over twenty years, Monica Castanys has exhibited in galleries throughout Europe and participated in numerous international art fairs. Her work, both intimate and universal, blends expression and poetry, inviting the viewer into moments of silence, transition, or contemplation.
