About the Artist:
«Through my creations, I focus on trying to capture the beauty and sensuality of my study subjects. »
Born in France in 1957, Olivier Duhamel is a French figurative sculptor who settled in New Zealand in 1987. After many travels across Europe, Central Africa, and the South Pacific, he established himself on Waiheke Island near Auckland, where he lives and works.
Passionate about human morphology, Duhamel perfectly masters the representation of the body, expressed through bronze, wood, and acrylic sculptures. He is particularly recognized for his innovative laminated sculpture technique, where laser-cut wood or resin panels are manually assembled to create detailed, expressive three-dimensional forms.
