About the Artist:
«Through my creations, I focus on capturing the beauty and sensuality of my subjects.»
Born in France in 1957, Olivier Duhamel is a figurative French sculptor who settled in New Zealand in 1987. After extensive travels across Europe, Central Africa, and the South Pacific, he established himself on Waiheke Island, near Auckland, where he lives and works today.
Passionate about human morphology, Duhamel has mastered the representation of the human body, expressed through sculptures in bronze, wood, and acrylic. He is particularly renowned for his innovative laminated sculpture technique, where wood or resin panels, laser-cut, are manually assembled to create detailed and expressive three-dimensional forms.
