Born in France in 1957, Olivier Duhamel is a French figurative sculptor who settled in New Zealand in 1987. After extensive travels in Europe, Central Africa, and the South Pacific, he established himself on Waiheke Island, near Auckland, where he has lived and worked ever since.

Passionate about human morphology, Duhamel perfectly masters the representation of the body, expressed through sculptures in bronze, wood, and acrylic. He is particularly renowned for his innovative laminated sculpture technique, where laser-cut wooden or resin panels are manually assembled to create detailed and expressive three-dimensional forms.
