About the artwork:
Original artwork by the artist Elia Pagliarino, created using a double-firing process. In the heart of the forest of Lake Sentarum, Ouaksah, one of the last Dayak, continues an ancestral tradition: the nocturnal harvesting of honey from the giant bee.
By the light of torches, he climbs the immense lalau trees, where swarms nest at dizzying heights. This know-how, passed down from generation to generation, reflects the deep bond between the Dayak people and their environment, where nature and culture intertwine harmoniously.
